Mercedes officially re-enters the world of sports car racing for the first time, in 33 years, after their disastrous crash, at the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans, which resulted in the worst crash in racing history when one of their cars lost control, and plowed through the crowd, killing 90 spectators.
