Spa 1,000 Kilometers: September 1st, 1985

For the second time in as many races, death would occur at a Group C race, when Stefan Bellof (the 1984 Group C sports car racing champion), crashed his Porsche 956 at Eau Rouge corner, and died shortly thereafter at the hospital due to head injuries/head trauma, and due to Bellof’s passing, the race would be abandoned without being fully completed.
